Berhampur: The Berhampur police has busted an illegal gutkha manufacturing unit and arrested five persons in this connection.
Based on reliable inputs, a police team under the leadership of SDPO Chikiti raided a house in Bhusunda village under Digapahandi PS where the mentioned 3 accused persons were manufacturing illegal Gutkha. All 3 are arrested and 2 other persons are absconding. Tea Bag Machine For Small Business
Further in continuation of the investigation, the source of manufacturing unit, procurement raw materials and the clandestine of this illegal gutkha has traced at Jena Sahi and Panigrahipentha of under Bada Bazar Berhampur.
In the context of two separate cases the arrested persons were identified as Manoj Sahu (35) of village Langaldei, PS Digapahandi,Rabindra Gouda (31) of village Langaldei, PS Digapahandi, Kalia Dora (28)of village Bhusunda, PS Digapahandi similarly by the Bada Bazar Police accused persons, Rama Chandra Dash and the auto driver Suraj Behera who are the active stockist and transporters have been traced arrested.
Police located two numbers of godowns at Jena Sahi and Panigrahipentha. The listed articles have been seized. All total a valuation of Rs. 30 Lakhs of machineries and gutkha products have been seized from the accused persons.
During search Police seized huge quantities of finished gutkha in pouch 16 packets of Gokul Deluxe Mix (Golden colour) each contains 70 sachets,95 packets of Gokul Deluxe Mix (green colour) each contains 70 sachets,15 packets of Haridakhandi (HK) each contains 70 sachets,4 No’s of Empty Gokul Deluxe mix sachets reels,one empty Haridakhandi (HK) reel, Manufacturing Machinery tools such as funnel, cutting machine, fitting tools. Empty Haridakhandi (HK) jerry packet in a jerry bag, One High speed 2000 digital photo control unit One Handmade Gutkha mixture machine
During the raid at Jena sahi and Panigrahipentha godowns under Berhampur Bada Bazar Police limit, the articles recovered and seized. Like,9 large size bags containing Gokul Deluxe Mix Gutkha weighing toral 225 Kgs and value 1.5 Lakhs.17 bags of Coriander (Dhania) both fried and raw.19 bags of Fennel Seed (Pan Madhuri),Betel nut crushed 25 Kgs. 20 and raw materials like tabacco leaf, coriander, mixture machine, packing machine and stitching machine etc.Zarda Essence with tobacco flavour. Frying machine, mixture machine,Roaster Machine, and One Autorickshaw bearing Reg No. OR07S0822.
Two separate cases under Digapahandi and Badabazar PS have been registered. Case No- Digapahandi PS Case No- 252 Dtd.11.07.2023 U/s 420/272/273/34 IPC/R.W section 20 of the Cigarette and other tobacco products (Prevention of Advertisement & Regulation of Trade, commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003,and Badabazar PS Case No- 246 Dtd.12.07.2023 U/s 420/272/273/34 IPC/R.W section 20 of the Cigarette and other tobacco products (Prevention of Advertisement & Regulation of Trade, commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act.The noted accused persons have been arrested and be forwarded to Court.
